The cherry trees bend over and are shedding

Collage assignment for uni based on the concept of the war between text and image. The originals were photocopied into monochrome and blown up to A1 posters for a class exhibition. I decided to ignore the brief and focus on the emotional themes during WWII; looking at relationships damaged by the brutality of war. Using war poems and 1940s inspired typography alongside old soldier portraiture and other photography I tried to capture the bittersweet issues associated with the era.

Day 2

I never completely understood the phrase 'cabin fever' but I think I have it. It's Day 2 of my week indoors in order to finish my Mount Everest of a final major project and I'm already talking to myself to keep me company. Literally.

In other news, my heart broke in half after watching the last episode of Shameless. R.I.P Mandy Maguire.
